About Me

Hello, new friends! Hey y’all, Southern friends!

I am Katie Coyne – teacher, educational blogger, teacher author on Teachers Pay Teachers, and a Southern girl from Louisiana. In 2003, I began my teaching career as a 6th grade ELA teacher. Four years later, I discovered the joy of teaching 5th grade, and that is where I remain today!

Since the day I started teaching, I could never find the resources that fit my style and content, so I began creating.

My love and passion for teaching grew stronger each year as my teaching style evolved from traditional methods to empowering students by providing fun learning experiences. I truly believe that student achievement is impacted by the classroom environment, which stems from the teacher’s style.

I could not be the teacher I am today without the endless ideas and resources that I discovered by reading blogs, researching, and collaborating.
